With the weather looking suitable, we carried on south. We had originally planned to head for Brønnøysund, but this would have meant a slightly longer passage the next day, so we decided to head back to Berg – a bit further on from Brønnøysund. The weather was light, but we got a chance to try out the Code 0 for a while. It worked well, giving us 4 knots over the ground in less than 10 knots of wind, but the wind had other thoughts and decided that its role was not to fill our sails, but to die further …. So, we motored the rest of the way. The route took us once again past Torghatten – the hill with a hole – shot through by a troll’s arrow.

On the way in to Berg was the intriguing sight of a Coastguard work vessel rebuilding one of the lighthouses on the point. They had nosed up to the point, hoisted the lighthouse on board with their crane and were busy rebuilding the base, before presumably lifting the lighthouse back again.

Once moored in Berg we found a nice walk up to a viewpoint above the town – a very suitable end to the day.
