Locating Lysøysundet

A mysterious orange orb appeared in the sky today. A long lost friend had returned for a visit – the sun. It was a short visit, but nevertheless a welcome one and made for a pleasant trip (motor) down to Lysøysundet. As we left Kuringvågen we took another look at the hills surrounding the harbour and were reminded of the story we were told by someone we chatted with at the football match. He told us of the great trolls who ruled the coastal area (Kunna and her counterpart Hauk). However, they became lazy and one day they were sleeping when the sun came up and that, for trolls, is fatal; they are turned to stone. Sure enough, the outline of the troll was very clear by the bridge as we left.

Trolls aside, it was a pleasant and short motor down to Lysøysundet, where we were helped in by a very friendly Norwegian couple who gave us the low down on the town; this was quite quick. However, we had a nice wander round in the afternoon and found the local disc golf course, filled up with diesel and did various other jobs before, in the evening, normal service was resumed and the rain returned.
