After another day in Kristiansand, going to an organ recital in the cathedral and then spending far too much time and money in a chandlery, we moved on again today. We left Kristiansand fairly early hoping for an easier ride before the wind came up, but 18-22 knots of wind saw to that! Although much of the route was sheltered, it was bumpy in the more exposed areas. That was helped by being able to pull the staysail out as the wind went a little more into the south, but we still motorsailed most of the way.

At Mandal we moored near the bridge – not our choice, but a grumpy Norwegian in a Hallberg-Rassy wouldn’t move up one space on the main jetty to let us in, so we ended up in the Y-booms by the main road. Not our first choice, but still very calm for the night.
