Ambling to Ålesund

With reasonable weather today, but strong winds forecast at the weekend, we decided to keep moving on. We left Sandsøya just before 9am and motored and motored and ….. The wind simply didn’t oblige, rarely getting above 5 knots in strength and generally less than that. It was a lovely trip, but no chance of sailing. We arrived in Ålesund in time for a late lunch and grabbed one of the spaces available on the jetties in the main harbour.

After lunch we headed out for a walk and ended up chatting with various boats down in the southern part of the harbour. One yacht was moving as was one motorboat, so we made the snap decision to move down there, hoping that it would be a lot more sheltered with the high winds forecast.
